Augusto Tavares Dias (b. 1953, Porto, Portugal) is a contemporary artist whose work explores the tension between form and emptiness, gesture and silence. Drawing inspiration from minimalism, calligraphy, and natural rhythms, Augusto’s paintings are meditative, often executed in layers of muted tones, precise strokes, and deliberate space. Working primarily with acrylics, ink, and mixed media on canvas or paper, Augusto Tavares Dias has cultivated a deeply personal visual language over four decades of practice.

Based in Sintra, Portugal, Augusto Tavares Dias has exhibited extensively across Europe, the United States, Asia, and South America since the early 1980s. His work is held in several private and public collections, and he continues collaborative projects with musicians, dancers, and poets.
